    • GRP/ Glass Fibre Pipe Wrap System

109 Self-Amalgamating Repair Tape – Single use “live” leak stopping Silicone tape.

109 Self-Amalgamating Repair tape is a high performance instant curing silicone based repair bandage, specifically developed for the repair of leaking pipes.

  • Apply to hand prepared or mechanically cleaned surfaces.
  • Instant curing.
  • Suitable for low pressure “live” water leaks
  • Up to 43.5psi (3 Bar) pressure resistance

Low pressure, live water pipe leaks up to 43.5psi (3 bar) pressure.

Surface Preparation – Hand tools such as wire brush, coarse sandpaper & metal file

  1. If possible, all oil and grease must be removed from the surface using an appropriate cleaner such as MEK.
  2. All surfaces must be cleaned using wire brush, metal file, coarse sandpaper etc.
  3. Once abraded and if possible, the surface must be degreased and cleaned using MEK or similar type material.

Application:

Prior to mixing please ensure the following:

  1. The ambient & surface temperature is above 5°C (41F°).

Once this check has been carried out, please proceed with applying the product.

  1. Centre tape over the leaking surface and wrap the bandage around the pipe, pulling firmly throughout application, the tape should be stretched to approximately double its natural length as you wrap. Remove backing film as the tape is applied.
  2. Each wrap should overlap the previous wrap by approximately 50%
  3. The wrapping should extend a minimum of 50mm on each side of the repair (for high flow leaks this may require increasing).
  4. Wrap a minimum of 5 layers (where required repeat wrapping until the leak is arrested).

RESIMETAL 110 Rubber Tourniquet – Emergency leak stopping rubber tape.

Resimetal 110 Rubber Tourniquet is a high performance repair bandage, specifically developed for the repair of “live” leaking pipes.
• Apply to hand prepared or mechanically cleaned surfaces.
• Instant Sealing.
• Suitable for low pressure “live” water leaks
• Up to 5 Bar (72.5 psi) pressure leak sealing.

Live water pipe leaks up to 5bar (72.5psi) pressure.

Application
Prior to mixing please ensure the following:
The ambient & surface temperature is above 5°C (41F°). Once this check has been carried out, please proceed with applying the product.
Mix a small quantity of Resimetal 103 Repair Stick, as per the material TDS. The quantity should be enough to cover the leak area and the surrounding pipe wall by a minimum of 25mm at approx. at a nominal 10mm thickness.
Apply the ball of material directly above the live leak, without covering the leaking section of pipe.

After the 1st wrap, the tape should be anchored, for the 2nd wrap, cover the 103 material with the tourniquet and
using pressure force the material into the leak area. Continue wrapping the tourniquet.
Each wrap should overlap the previous wrap by approximately 50%
The wrapping should extend a minimum of 75mm on each side of the repair.
Wrap the entire length of rubber and attach with the Velcro fastener.
